JA Solar has delivered 1GW of n-type PV modules for a pilot project being developed as part of the 12GW Ulan Buh Desert Northeast New Energy Base project in China.
The successful execution of this pilot project is regarded as a critical milestone within the broader Ulan Buh Desert project, showcasing the potential for future renewable energy developments in the region.
JA Solar’s high-performance n-type modules are recognised for their high efficiency and reliability.
Initial shipments of the modules for the project commenced in early 2024 with delivery completion achieved within 180 days.
JA Solar managed peak monthly deliveries of more than 400MW, maintaining efficient logistics with 80 truckloads dispatched daily at the busiest stage.

In a related development, JA Solar has entered a 1.25GW module procurement agreement with the China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC).
JA Solar will supply its n-type PV modules for Africa’s largest photovoltaic (PV) storage project.
The deal was signed on 14 January 2025 during the World Future Energy Summit 2025, held in Abu Dhabi.
JA Solar will be the exclusive supplier of the PV modules for the Abydos Phase II 1GW+600MWh PV-storage project developed by AMEA Power and constructed by CEEC in Egypt.
