Ingeteam has delivered more than 1GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power conversion systems and controls to Acciona Energía for two projects in the US.
The first of the two Texas-based projects has a capacity of 317 megawatts alternating capacity (MWac) and includes 48 transformer stations equipped with 185 Ingeteam central inverters.
This is Ingeteam’s inaugural large-scale installation and commissioning venture for Acciona Energía in the US market.
The second Texas project, with 458MWac capacity, features 71 medium voltage Full Skid transformer stations.
These are fully integrated with 131 INGECON SUN 3Power C Series liquid cooling central inverters, showcasing Ingeteam’s advanced cooling technology.
The agreement between Ingeteam and Acciona Energía includes commissioning both plants and providing Ingeteam’s power plant controller (PPC) for efficient, reliable operation.

By GlobalDataA third solar PV project in Ohio, which Ingeteam is commissioning, will contribute an extra 325MWac to the state’s solar capacity.
For this project, Ingeteam has supplied 62 Full Skid transformer stations, along with 124 central inverters and the PPC system.
Ingeteam is set to boost the US solar power sector by more than 1GW, continuing its role as the technology partner for Acciona Energía.
The company has contributed to the US energy landscape with more than 5GW of its technology deployed predominantly in utility-scale PV and energy storage plants.
Many of these projects have capacities ranging from 100MW and 500MWac.
Ingeteam vice-president and general manager of the solar PV, energy storage and green hydrogen business unit Nohra Nasr stated: “It is most rewarding to continue to work together with leaders in the US market such as Acciona Energía and help contribute to their plans to electrify a sustainable future.
“Without a doubt, these projects reaffirm their confidence in our technology and service support as a reliable partner. It also motivates us to continue to do things right which ultimately strengthens our leading position in the US.”
In July 2024 Ingeteam was awarded a supply contract for the 93MW Girgarre solar farm project in Victoria, Australia.
Ingeteam supplied 15 transformers, a power plant control system and advanced power electronics technology as a turnkey solution.
