Ingeteam has been awarded two contracts by European Energy to provide its technology for upcoming solar projects in Australia.

The two solar photovoltaic (PV) plants called Lancaster and Mulwala are part of the nation’s broader decarbonisation goals. They are expected to play a key role in Australia’s transition to renewable energy.

The Lancaster solar farm, to be built in Victoria, will have a total capacity of 106MW, while the Mulwala Solar farm in New South Wales (NSW) will have a capacity of 31MW.

Both projects are expected to commence operations by next year, with an annual generation of around 255 gigawatt-hours (GWh).

This output will be enough to supply approximately 54,000 households across Australia with green electricity.

Under the contract, Ingeteam will supply 77 inverters from its INGECON SUN Power B Series range for these projects.

The equipment will be incorporated into 22 medium-voltage transformer stations within the plants.

The company’s responsibilities also include the installation of control electronics for the photovoltaic plants.

These new contracts are set to further strengthen Ingeteam’s footprint in Australia’s solar sector.

Ingeteam has maintained a subsidiary in North Wollongong for more than a decade, capturing around 25% of the local solar market.

The company is recognised for its role as a reliable technology partner, supporting developers through the complex technical processes required for grid connection.

Ingeteam Australia photovoltaic and storage sector sales manager Jorge Guillén said: “This is the first project we have carried out for this client, which has placed its trust in Ingeteam because of our technical capacity and proven solvency in the more than 4GW supplied in the country.

“We are very proud to contribute to the electrification of Australia, decarbonising its energy matrix.”

In August last year, Ingeteam provided more than 1GW of solar power conversion systems and controls to Acciona Energía for two US projects.
