Greenko Group, a renewable energy company in India, has appointed AFRY to provide detailed design engineering services for the 1.8GW Shahpur pumped hydro energy storage project in the state of Rajasthan.

Greenko previously led a large integrated renewable energy storage project at Pinnapuram, combining 3,000MW of solar, 550MW of wind and 1,680MW of pumped hydro, with a storage cycle of four hours, twice a day.

AFRY served as the lead detailed design consultant for the pumped storage plant.

In November 2024, AFRY was appointed as the owner’s engineer for Neoen’s 79 MWp [megawatts peak] solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Ballinknockane, Ireland.

The Ballinknockane project includes a ground-mounted PV plant and a 110kV substation for connection to the Irish electrical grid. AFRY’s responsibilities for this project cover project management support, design review and oversight of the construction and commissioning phases.
