The 577MW Fox Squirrel Solar project in Madison County, Ohio, US, has reached full operational status.
Developed by EDF Renewables and owned in partnership with Enbridge, the facility is said to be “one of the largest utility-scale solar developments east of the Mississippi River”.
The Fox Squirrel Solar facility features 1.4 million panels and 159 inverters.
The energy produced by Fox Squirrel Solar is supplied to Amazon through power purchase agreements signed in May 2024.
All three phases of the project are now delivering electricity to the PJM grid.
The power purchase agreement supports Amazon’s Climate Pledge commitment and highlights the increasing trend of corporates embracing renewable energy.
