Solar energy equipment supplier ES Foundry has signed a three-year, 150MW supply agreement with a US national community solar developer.

The deal requires ES Foundry to supply its domestically produced solar cells for use in BNEF Tier 1 solar modules purchased by the developer.

This move supports the developer’s growing portfolio of projects across the country and enables them to capture additional investment tax credit (ITC) for domestic content.

As the US solar industry faces ongoing supply chain pressures, ES Foundry provides developers with a stable, economical and reliable supply of solar cells.

Solar accounted for 66% of all new electric generating capacity added to the grid in 2024.

As the market accelerates, securing a stable supply of domestically produced components is crucial.

For the developer, securing a stable and reliable supply of high-quality, American-made modules containing ES Foundry’s cells was essential for scaling its long-term clean energy pipeline.

This partnership supports the confident expansion of renewable energy projects, enabling long-term savings and sustainability for the communities it serves.

The collaboration re-inforces the shared goals of a stronger, more secure energy future, with domestic solar manufacturing seen as critical to national energy independence.

ES Foundry VP of sales Ken Johnston stated: “With this agreement, our customer is setting an example for other solar developers to proactively solidify their domestic supply chain strategies.

“Developers need certainty, and our commitment is to provide them with a steady supply of high-quality solar cells so they can complete their projects on time and at scale.”

In early 2025, ES Foundry inaugurated a new solar cell manufacturing facility in Greenwood, South Carolina.

The factory, spanning more than 400,000 square feet, is expected to employ 500 people by June.

The company is set to become the leading producer of high-quality crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar cells in the US.
