Under the contract, Vestas will also be responsible for installation and commissioning of the wind turbines.

Vestas Northern & Central Europe UK sales director Anna Schlasberg Wachtmeister said: “The Evishagaran wind project enables a highly competitive business case for our valued long-term business partner ERG and offers the lowest cost of energy to the energy consumer.

“Demonstrating our strong experience and track record in a merchant environment, this project marks another step forward for renewable energy in the UK.”

Vestas claims that its wind turbines have been designed to increase the production of energy and at a competitive cost.

Additionally, the Danish company has agreed to provide its VestasOnline Business SCADA solution and a ten-year active output management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Vestas intends to deliver turbines in the second quarter of 2021, with commissioning planned to take place in the second and third quarter of 2021.

Last year, the company won more than 200MW orders in the UK’s post-subsidy market.

In February this year, Vestas secured a wind turbine supply contract from its Swedish customer Stena Renewables.

According to the contract, Vestas will supply its EnVentus V162-5.6MW turbines for the Riskebo wind energy project.
