Italian multinational renewable energy company Enel Green Power (EGP) has initiated construction works for four new wind farms in Zaragoza, Northern Spain.
With a total investment of nearly €116m, the wind farms will have a total power generation capacity of around 110MW.

In May 2017 Enel Green Power secured a 540MW tender for the project, with the construction of the facility being part of the tender.
Endesa CEO José Bogas said: “These projects, as part of the 900MW we are building in Spain, reinforce our commitment to further strengthening the country’s renewable generation mix, helping it achieve its green energy goals.
“Moreover, we are leveraging on Spain’s wealth of renewable energy sources, while actively promoting innovation and sustainability by embracing international best practices in the construction phase.”
Endesa is the largest electric utility company in Spain, and is a majority-owned subsidiary of Italian firm Enel.
The four new wind facilities are expected to begin their commercial operations by the end of this year.
Once fully operational, the wind farms are expected to generate nearly 375GWh per year and cut 247,894 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
The company now has ten wind farms under construction in Spain.
