Silfab Solar plans to make a direct investment of $40m in Itek’s facility in Bellingham, Washington, in order to expand its manufacturing operations in the US.

The investment will be a part of Silfab Solar’s strategy to meet the growing demand for its solar panels in the US.

Silfab intends to integrate its automation technology with Itek’s facility and add a second manufacturing line to double-photovoltaic (PV) module production capacity through the transaction.

Based in Canada, Silfab Solar is engaged in the manufacture of PV modules, while Itek is a US-based manufacturer of solar PV modules.

Canadian Solar has entered a joint venture with ET Energy to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for two of BioTherm Energy’s solar projects.

The two projects have a capacity of 132MW and are located in South Africa.

Ørsted has entered a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Innogy for the 100% offtake of the power produced by the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm in the UK.

SNC-Lavalin has formed a new joint venture (JV) company called Linxon in partnership with ABB.

Linxon will combine ABB’s technology leadership and SNC-Lavalin’s expertise in managing infrastructure projects.

The main focus of the new JV will be the execution of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects for electrical AC substation projects in addition to providing project design, EPC, management, commissioning and after-sales support services.

SNC-Lavalin is a Canadian engineering company, while ABB is a Swiss technology company.
