Blaze Manufacturing Solutions has secured contracts with steel company Iemants to design, supply and install fire safety systems for the Baltyk 2 and 3 offshore substations in Poland.

The contractual scope comprises design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of advanced fire alarm and suppression systems.

Blaze’s involvement spans from the initial design phases through to installation and future system maintenance.

Blaze Manufacturing Solutions external relations director Anne Johnson stated: “We are delighted to have been chosen for this important project. The Baltyk 2 and 3 wind farms represent a significant investment in renewable energy, and we are proud to contribute our expertise in fire safety to ensure their safe and efficient operation.

“Our team is committed to delivering comprehensive and reliable fire detection and protection solutions that meet the specific needs of these offshore substations.”

The Baltyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms are being developed by a joint venture between Equinor and Polenergia.

Situated in the Baltic Sea, they will rely on resilient fire safety measures to protect both personnel and equipment. These systems will be crucial to the overall safety and operational efficiency of the wind farms.

Blaze will implement advanced technologies to design fire detection, suppression and protection systems that can respond swiftly and endure challenging offshore conditions.

The Baltyk 2 and 3 wind farms will be among the first to be developed off the coast of Poland.

Set to generate their first power in 2027, the projects will contribute significantly to Poland’s renewable energy capacity.

Blaze’s role is essential to ensuring safety and smooth operation throughout the life of the farms. Its fire safety solutions will support the continuous production of renewable energy.

Blaze technical director Greg Carnie stated: “This demonstrates a deep understanding of the fire safety requirements and presents a compelling solution that aligns with the project goals.

“Our experience in the offshore wind sector and our commitment to quality and safety gave Iemants the confidence to select Blaze for this critical aspect of the project.”
