Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power has commissioned a 1GW combined-cycle power plant in Turkey.

Built with a cost of $1bn under a public-private partnership mode, the Kirikkale plant is capable of meeting 3% of the total electricity demand in the country.

“Construction of the Kirikkale plant began in December 2014 and employed more than 2,000 local engineers and workers.”
