The project is being developed and currently owned by GMR Energy.
Talong is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 92.5 million cubic meter. The net head of the project will be 71m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 3 in number. The penstock length will be 282m. The penstock diameter will be 5.2m. The project is expected to generate 890.44 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $334.244m.
The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 75MW nameplate capacity.
