Meyersdale Storage is a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of ESI Energy LLC, which is part of NextEra Energy Resources LLC, which is a unit of NextEra Energy. Meyersdale Storage will own and operate an 18 MW energy storage system located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The facility will operate within the PJM Interconnection market, and interconnect with Pennsylvania Electric’s 115kV Davis substation
Meyersdale Storage also filed a Sept. 2 application with FERC for market-based rate authority. Meyersdale Storage, a Delaware limited liability company, will own and operate an 18 MW energy storage system located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The Facility will interconnect with Pennsylvania Electric Company’s 115kV Davis substation and is currently scheduled to be energized on or after November 5, 2015, in order to begin the sale of test power. The Facility’s commercial operation is expected to begin in December, 2015. The entire output of the Facility will be sold into PJM’s market.
