The project was developed by Rabigh Electricity. International Company for Water and Power Projects, Korea Electric Power and Saudi Electricity are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 40% and 20% respectively.
It is a steam turbine power plant.

Rabigh IPP Power Plant (Rabigh IPP Power Plant Unit II) is equipped with Dongfang Electric steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 602MW nameplate capacity.
Dongfang Electric supplied electric generator for the project.
Dongfang Electric supplied steam boiler for the project.
Korea Western Power and The First National Operation & Maintenance were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
About Rabigh Electricity
Rabigh Electricity Company (RABEC) builds, owns and operates Rabigh steam-powered plant. The plant will have a capacity of 1,200 megawatts and expected to start operations in 2012.
