The facility will provide ancillary services and energy optimisation to the wholesale markets managed by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the grid operator for most of Texas. It was designed and constructed by Ormat’s subsidiary Viridity Energy Solutions Inc, which will own and operate the system that uses lithium-ion batteries.
