Description

The project was developed by African Clean Energy Developments, Sturdee Energy and SunEdison. African Infrastructure Investment Managers, African Rainbow Energy And Power, Phakwe Power, Reatile Group and Cicada Community Trust are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.01%, 15%, 15%, 15% and 4.99% respectively.

Zeerust Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 177 hectares.

The project generates 180,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 84,000 households.

The project consists of 261,348 modules.

Development status

The project got commissioned in January 2021.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2021. The contracted capacity is 75MWh.

Contractors involved

Cobra Energia was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.
