Description
The project was developed by MidAmerican Energy. MidAmerican Energy, Lincoln Electric System, Central Iowa Power Cooperative, Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska, Corn Belt Power Cooperative, Cedar Falls Utilities, City of Spencer, City of New Hampton, Eldridge City Utilities, Waverly Light and Power and Alta Municipal Utilities are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 59.66%, 12.66%, 9.55%, 6.92%, 5.6%, 2.14%, 1.14%, 0.56%, 0.53%, 0.4% and 0.14% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is subbituminous. In case of shortage of subbituminous the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Wyoming Coal Mine, Black Hills Energy.
The project generated 4,645,563MWh of electricity.
