Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by General Electricity Company Of Libya. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Gas Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be light diesel oil. In case of shortage of light diesel oil the plant will run on Natural Gas. The fuel will be procured from National Oil Corporation.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by April 2025.

ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi and Siemens Energy are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the dual-fuel fired power project.
Siemens Energy will be the turbine supplier for the Dual-Fuel fired project. The company is expected to provide 4 units of SGT5-PAC 2000E gas turbines, each with 187MW nameplate capacity.
Siemens Energy is expected to be the supplier of SGen5-100A electric generator for the project.
