Description
The project is being developed by Afry Solutions UK and Fortum Glasgow. Fortum and Green Investment Group are currently owning the project.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 70,000 households, to offset 672,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of combustion will be adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
