Description
The project is developed and owned by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel Oil. The fuel is procured from Gulf of Thailand.

The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in February 2020.

Marubeni, Siemens (Proprietary) and Siemens Energy were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the South Bangkok Combined Cycle Power Plant Block 4 (South Bangkok Combined Cycle Power Plant Block 4 Unit I).
