Description
The project was developed by CarbonFree Technology and Samsung Renewable Energy. Connor Clark & Lunn Infrastructure, Regime de rentes du Mouvement Desjardins and Samsung Renewable Energy are currently owning the project.
Sol-Luce Kingston Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 800 acres.
The project generates 173,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 16,409 households, offsetting 119,292t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project construction commenced in 2014 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in September 2015.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2015. The contracted capacity is 100MW.
Contractors involved
Canadian Solar Solutions and H.B. White Canada were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.
Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 464,500 modules at the site.
SMA Canada supplied 125 of its 800CP-US inverters to the project site.
SMA Canada is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
