Description
The project is currently owned by Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy, Kuwait with a stake of 100%.
It is a CCGT with Cogen power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Gas Oil.

The project got commissioned in June 2010.

Fisia Italimpianti, GE Power, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Mitsubishi Power were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the dual-fuel fired power project.
The Dual-Fuel fired project have been supplied by GE Power and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions.
The electric generators for the project were procured from GE Power and Mitsubishi Power.
