Description
The project was developed by Cemig Geracao e Transmissao. China Power International Holding, Zhejiang Energy International and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51%, 35% and 14% respectively.
Sao Simao is a reservoir based project. The gross head of the project is 73m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 6 in number. The penstock diameter is 9.5m. Sao Simao underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2018-2019.
