Description

The project was developed by Orsted. PensionDanmark, Orsted and Stadtwerke Lubeck are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 42.75% and 7.25% respectively.

The wind turbines in the Rodsand 1 - Phase I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of gravity foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Rodsand 1 - Phase II are installed on fixed foundations. An array of gravity foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Rodsand 1 - Phase III are installed on fixed foundations. An array of gravity foundations feature in the phase.

The project generates 595,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 145,000 households, offsetting 500,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2002 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in December 2003.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 72 units of SWT-2.3-82 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project.
