Description
The project is being developed by Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. NTPC and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 74% and 26% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The fuel will be procured from Banhardih captive coal block.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2018. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2024.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years from 2016. The offtake capacity is expected to be 3,400MW.
