Description

The project is developed and owned by Tangsibji Hydro Energy.

Nikachhu is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 0.537 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 536.25m and 527.5m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 932m. The penstock diameter is 3m. The project generated 491.52 GWh of electricity.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to PTC India under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years from 2014. The contracted capacity is 118MW.

Voith Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of pelton turbines, each with 59MW nameplate capacity.
