Description

The project is being developed by Equis Development, Tohoku Electric Power and Toyo Engineering. The project is currently owned by Equis Development with a stake of 20% and Tohoku Electric Power.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 117,000 households, to offset 190,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Agricultural by-product and wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in October 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Tohoku Electric Power Network under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors involved

Toyo Engineering is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.

Siemens Energy will be the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company is expected to provide 1 turbine with 50MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz is likely to be the supplier of the steam boiler for the project.

Tohoku Electric Power is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the project.
