Description

The project was developed by First Solar (Australia) and Iberdrola Australia. The project is currently owned by Banpu with a stake of 100%.

Manildra Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 120 hectares.

The project generates 118,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 14,000 households, offsetting 91,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in December 2018.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to EnergyAustralia under a power purchase agreement for a period of 13 years from 2018. The contracted capacity is 46.7MW.

Contractors involved

RCR Tomlinson was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

First Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 465,600 modules each with 120W of nameplate capacity.

SMA Solar Technology supplied 20 of its 2500SC-EV inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising horizontal single axis trackers supplied by NEXTracker.

First Solar and NovaSource Power Services were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
