Description

The project is being developed by Luang Prabang Power. CK Power Public, PT (SOLE), CH. Karnchang and PetroVietnam Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 42%, 38%, 10% and 10% respectively.

Luang Prabang is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 734 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 68m and 26m respectively. The project is expected to generate 6,854 GWh of electricity.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2030.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to EGAT International under a power purchase agreement.

Andritz Hydro will be the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company is expected to provide 3 turbines, each with 20MW nameplate capacity.
