The project is developed by Green Power Development Corporation of Japan and Looop. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

Looop Nakashibetsu Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 994,000 square meters.

The project generates 30,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 6,100 households, offsetting 24,180t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project got commissioned in 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Hokkaido Electric Power under a power purchase agreement at the rate of $0.352kWh. The contracted capacity is 20GW.

Contractors involved

Nippon COMSYS was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

JA Solar Holdings was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 107,000 modules each with 300W of nameplate capacity.

The inverters were procured from Fuji Electric for the project.
