Description
The project is being developed by Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric. NHPC and Government of Manipur are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 74% and 26% respectively.
Loktak Downstream HEP is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 144m and 112m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 1 in number. The penstock diameter will be 4.8m. The project is expected to generate 334.22 GWh of electricity.
