Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Hokkaido Electric Power.

Kyogoku is a pumped storage project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 400m and 369m respectively. The project is expected to generate 525.6 GWh of electricity.

Kyogoku (Kyogoku Unit No.1, No.2) will be equipped with Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions francis turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 200MW nameplate capacity.

Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions is expected to supply 2 electric generators for the Kyogoku (Kyogoku Unit No.1, No.2). The generator capacity is likely to be 230 MVA.
