Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Ethiopian Electric Power.

Koysha is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 9,000 million cubic meter. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 3 in number. The penstock length will be 650m. The penstock diameter will be 9.5m. The project is expected to generate 6,000 GWh of electricity.

Webuild is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the hydro power project.

Dongfang Electric is expected to supply 6 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is likely to be 318 MVA.
