Description
The project is being developed by Chenab Valley Power Projects. NHPC and Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.
Karthai-II is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 51.26 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 232.08m and 225m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 3 in number. The penstock length will be 827m. The penstock diameter will be 5.25m.
