Description
The project is being developed by Ishinomaki Hibarino Biomass Energy GK. Renova, Tokyo Gas, United Purpose Management and Mizuho Leasing are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 38%, 34%, 15% and 13% respectively.
The project is expected to generate 530GWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 170,000 households.
Agricultural by-product and wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2020. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by January 2024.

JGC Holdings is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
Siemens will be the steam turbine supplier for the project.
Sumitomo Heavy Industries is likely to be the supplier of the steam boiler for the project.
