Description
The project was developed by CoGen. The project is co-owned by Bioenergy Infrastructure Group and Peel NRE, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.
The project supplies enough clean energy to power 42,500 households, offsetting 65,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of gasification has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Wood waste which is a kind of wood by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

The power generated from the project is sold to Npower under a power purchase agreement.
