Description

The project was developed by Hywind (Scotland). Equinor and Masdar Offshore Wind Scotland are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 75% and 25% respectively.

The wind turbines in the project are installed on floating foundations. An array of floating spar foundations feature in the project.

The project generates 135,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 20,000 households, offsetting 63,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in October 2017.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Danske Commodities under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 30MW.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 5 units of SWT-6.0-154 turbines, each with 6MW nameplate capacity.

The wind power project consists of Tubular Steel towers supplied by Navacel Internacional. These towers are around 83m high.
