Description
The project is being developed by Northland Power. Northland Power and Electricity Supply Board are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 75.5% and 24.5% respectively.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 1,300,000 households, to offset 2,200,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project will be spread over an area of 390km². The turbines will be mounted on floating type foundations.
The wind power project consists of 108 turbines.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2032. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2036.
