Description
The project was developed by Acciona Energia and Aveng. Acciona Energia, Royal Bafokeng Holdings Pty and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 54.9%, 25.1% and 20% respectively.
The project generates 423,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 200,000 households, offsetting 406,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The Concrete towers installed at the project site are 100m high.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2014 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in September 2015.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2015.
Contractors involved
Acciona Energia and Aveng were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.
Nordex was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 46 units of AW-100/3000 turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.
Acciona Energia is the O&M contractor for the wind power project, commencing from the year 2015.
