Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by ENGIE Africa and Nareva Holding. The owners have 50% stake in the project respectively.

Gafsa Solar Park is a ground-mounted solar project.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 100,000 households, to offset 150,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Societe Tunisienne de l'Electricite et du Gaz under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.027kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 100MW.
