Description

The project was developed by Technopromexport and is currently owned by Government of Iraq.

Dokan is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 6,140 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 95m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 5 in number. The penstock diameter is 3.65m. Dokan underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2007-2013. The project generated 1,130 GWh of electricity.

The project has 5 electric generators installed at the site.
