Chasnupp-1 is a Generation II nuclear reactor developed by China National Nuclear and CNNC China Zhongyuan Engineering, are the main contractors for the project.

The 325MW reactor is owned and operated by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. The company has a stake of 100%.

Shanghai Electric Group was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the nuclear reactor. The company provided 1 steam turbine for the project. East China Electric Power Design Institute and Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute were selected as the architect engineers for the reactor. The reactor system was supplied by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute. The reactor vessel has been supplied by China First Heavy Industries (Group). The material used for the construction of the vessel is Alloyed Steel (SA 508 111). The civil works were carried out by China Nuclear Engineering & Construction.
