Description

The project is being developed by Centragrid. Centragrid, National Social Security Authority and Old Mutual are currently owning the project.

Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 50 hectares.

The project is expected to generate 3,700MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 7,000 households.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2019. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by August 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park (Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park Phase I) will be sold to Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission & Distribution under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 2MW.

Sinohydro is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park (Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park Phase I) project. Sinohydro Bureau 11 is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park (Centragrid Nyabira Solar PV Park Phase II) project.
