Description

The project was developed by Enel Generacion Peru SAA. Enel Americas and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 83.6% and 16.4% respectively.

Callahuanca is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 435m and 424m respectively. Callahuanca underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2005, 2017-2019. The project generated 614.11 GWh of electricity.

The project construction commenced in 1934 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1938.

Contractors involved

The turbines for the hydro power project have been supplied by Andritz Hydro and Voith Hydro Holding.

The electric generators for the project were procured from Andritz Hydro and Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation.
