Description

The project was developed by African Clean Energy Developments and SunEdison. African Infrastructure Investment Managers, African Rainbow Energy And Power, Phakwe Power, Reatile Renewables and Cicada Community Trust are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.01%, 15%, 15%, 15% and 4.99% respectively.

Bokamoso Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 150 hectares.

The project generates 130,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 30,000 households, offsetting 206,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in August 2020.

Contractors involved

juwi was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Suntech Power Holdings was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 236,580 modules at the site.

juwi is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project for a period of 5 years.
