The project was developed by Phoenix Power 1. Phoenix Power 1, ib vogt, Infinity Solar Energy and Cedrus Enterprises Holding SAL are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51%, 23.8%, 23.8% and 1.4% respectively.

Benban Phoenix Power 1 Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 112.26 hectares.

The project generates 156,700MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 92,187 households, offsetting 69,133t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project consists of 187,600 modules.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in June 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.078kWh for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 50MW.
