The project was developed by Alcazar Energy and Samcrete Egypt Engineers & Contractors. The project is currently owned by Alcazar Energy with a stake of 100%.

Benban Alcazar Solar 4 PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 0.98 km².

The project generates 142,600MWh electricity thereby offsetting 67,430t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in May 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.078kWh for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 50MW.

Contractors involved

Enviromena Power Systems and TSK Group were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

The inverters were procured from Power Electronics Espana for the project.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by Soltec Energias Renovables.
