The project is developed and owned by Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania.

Belmeken PSP is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 144.04 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 730m. Belmeken PSP (Belmeken PSP Active unit) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2021-2022.Belmeken PSP (Belmeken PSP Active unit 2) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2021-2023.Belmeken PSP (Belmeken PSP Active Units 3,4,5) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2021-2024. The project generated 331 GWh of electricity.

The project consists of 5 generators.

Contractors involved

CKD Blansko Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The project consists of 5 units of Pelton turbines, each with 75MW nameplate capacity.
