Description

The project was developed by RiverRidge Energy and is currently owned by Full Circle Generation.

The project generates 100GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 21,000 households, offsetting 50,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The process of gasification has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Household waste which is a kind of municipal solid waste is used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project consists of 2 steam turbines.

The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2021.

Contractors involved

Bouygues Energies & Services UK was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.

Biomass Power supplied steam boiler for the project.

Bouygues Energies & Services UK is the O&M contractor for the project for a period of 17 years.
