Almendralejo Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 300 hectares.

The project generates 257GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 65,000 households, offsetting 112,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Novartis International under a power purchase agreement for a period of 10 years.

Contractors involved

JA Solar Holdings was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 230,000 modules each with 540W of nameplate capacity.

The inverters were procured from Ingeteam Corporacion for the project.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by STI Norland.
